BroadbandDeals.co.uk is celebrating after being awarded the gold standard of trust for its price comparison services – accreditation by the industry regulator Ofcom.
The accreditation comes after the site was put through its paces in a painstaking independent audit which judged the broadband price comparison to be accurate, comprehensive and fair, as well as accessible for all readers and transparent in its pricing.
Huddersfield-based Bonus Media Ltd rebuilt BroadbandDeals.co.uk in 2016 to help home, business and mobile broadband customers get a better deal.
Overall it becomes the fourth UK broadband price comparison website to receive the gold standard of Ofcom accreditation.
Since 2010 Ofcom has limited this seal of approval to just three other broadband comparison websites: broadbandchoices.co.uk, SimplifyDitigal.co.uk and broadband.co.uk.
BroadbandDeals.co.uk won plaudits for its simple navigation and the breadth of its price comparison, showing over 400 deals daily from all the major ISPs including Sky, BT, Virgin and TalkTalk, as well as the cheaper independents like DirectSave Telecom and the latest gigabit-capable fibre services from the likes of Hyperoptic.
After users enter their postcode, the site calculates ‘The Bottom Line’ for every deal, showing the cost of the service over the full length of the contract, including any hidden charges, allowing people to truly compare like with like.
Ben Tibbits, director at BroadbandDeals.co.uk, said: “We are very proud to become an Ofcom-accredited site.
“It is a wonderful validation of everything the team has worked so hard to achieve over the last year.
“The broadband market is changing so rapidly that consumers need to know they can trust us to be fair and impartial as we guide them through the ever-growing range of providers and products.
“We are committed to offering not only the widest possible choice, but also the friendly help and advice that users really need to get the best broadband, TV and phone deals for them.”
Commenting, Ofcom consumer group director Lindsey Fussell said: “Price comparison services help consumers to make informed choices, by offering clear information on the services available to them and how much they cost.
“Ofcom accreditation means consumers can be confident that a price comparison service provides information that is accurate and thorough.”
