SSE are are ok. The signal seems good now, but in the past there has been cut offs in the wifi.

My Internet speed is very good. I don't get a late payment fee when I pay late. Its excellent value for money and I am very happy with the service. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

The switch was pretty quick, I didn't have to do much. Sometimes it can cut off for a few minutes which is annoying. Overall not bad.

The switchover was good. But the service is rubbish, weak wifi and the speed is appalling. I’m looking for new provider already.

Switching over was so easy. I didn't need an engineer and only took a few weeks to complete. Since the switch over I have had no problems at all. Consistent speeds even with a busy household where multiple people are using on different devices. I would absolutely recommend SSE.

Overall it's ok. We had issues with our switch which required an engineer visit to fix, and took longer than expected. The broadband speed is better than my previous provider, but also more expensive.

Satisfaction and Value for Money

  • The customers we asked said they saved on average £5.5 per month by switching to SSE broadband.
  • Users gave SSE 8.4/10 for overall satisfaction, and rated them 8/10 on value for money.
  • When asked why they chose SSE broadband, 88% said that they offered the most cost effective deal at the time.
  • Other reasons customers cited were: broadband speed (13%).

Switching and Initial Set-Up

  • On average, the customers we surveyed gave SSE a rating of 8.9/10 for handling their broadband switch.
  • Most customers reported that it took less than 2 weeks from placing an order with SSE until their new broadband was up and running.
  • 13% of new SSE users had to have a new phone line or cable installed.
  • To get set up, 13% required a home visit from an engineer, with 0% needing repeat visits.
  • 25% of customers surveyed told us they needed a router upgrade and 6% required additional wifi signal boosters.

Broadband Speed & Reliability

  • For broadband speed, customers rated SSE 8.1/10 on average.
  • Users gave them 8.3/10 for the reliability of their broadband connection.
  • 13% of people experienced issues with intermittent downtime, with 6% saying their broadband was down persistently.
  • 19% of respondents told us they had a slow connection at least some of the time.
  • 25% said they had a poor wifi signal in some parts of their home.
