My deal I got was really good and is most certainly value for money. I had no issues with my switch, Sky did try and offer me a better deal but could not match the speeds of BT. My new speeds for streaming and game play is really good where my last provider had lag. I have not once had to ring customer services for help during the switch.

The internet is very slow. Also weak signal. The speeds are slow and weak signal on Wi-Fi received Wi-Fi disc but does not help improve speed much.

Switched supplier to take advantage of the recent availability of fibre broadband in the area. We also wanted to retain a landline and the same phone number, BT provide a VoIP and arranged for our existing number to be retained. Overall BT provided an easy switch over, the new fibre cable was installed quickly and efficiently.

Admin side of switching was straight forward but poor communication between BT and Openreach led to an installation delay of over a month. An engineer visited on ‘switch day’ and it took longer than he expected to install the FTTP which the engineer put down to the Openreach initial survey not being fully completed. Speeds were super fast after installation but then turned out to be a little erratic over the next 2/3 weeks. Once everything had settled I’m very happy with my upload and download speeds. FTTP isn’t the cheapest option but the speeds are great. BT encourage customers to use the BT app for account management but I do feel that their app could be better. For example the order tracking facility was very hit and miss with order sometimes failing to show. Overall I’m very satisfied with my new broadband.

Got a good deal plus a voucher, communications were good & engineer was on time and got everything set up quickly. Speed is ok and consistent considering distance from the main road. Have lost connection a few times due to work on lines and presumed faults but only a few days. Overall happy with the switch and service provided.

We decided to switch as talk talk did not provide the service expected. Having been a previous BT customer it made sense to switch to them. Not a minute of bother since we did. Excellent service all round

The line is reliable the speeds are slightly less than what the line can handle which is a bit annoying, look closely to see if prices are introductory you might get a shock a few months in but like I said the line is reliable.

My switch has not gone well. Am now 3 months in and they've still not ported over my phone number. Now it’s been so long they claim that can’t.

The speed is consistently fast and reliable. The connection was really easy as the line was ready installed at the house when I moved in. The great thing for me was that BT sent the router before the official switch on date and I could connect as soon as I had the router, meaning I didn’t have to go for two weeks without internet.

BT broadband is in my opinion much better. It's a trusted brand that I recognise, great customer service and value for money. My experience with my previous provider wasn't great. Reoccurring issues that weren't dealt with, long waits for customer service calls. Another stress has been alleviated.

Compared to my previous provider BT is able to provide all I need at a substantially reduced cost. From initial enquiry to using the new service I was kept informed by BT and my new equipment was received in good time. I was able to changeover the modem/router etc without the use of a technician visit and the subsequent speeds and quality of the service is excellent. More than Happy with BT Broadband ,TV and phone service so far.

Had issues at switchover due to previous provider Sky disconnecting the phone line, much to the surprise of the BT engineer. BT fixed this and got my phone number back within 24 hours. Speed and stability have been very good and despite the high price, I'm glad I made the switch.

My switch was done smoothly. I did have to contact BT the day after my broadband went live as I was concerned but couldn’t get on the internet. They sent an engineer out the next day to fix a fault and they come first thing as promised. BT then credited my account with £26 as a sorry for the delay. I would recommend BT. They have been excellent very helpful when I spoke to them.

Broadband speed similar to previous supplier, however have had more dropouts than with previous supplier. A mistake in giving e-mail address took a lot (approx 5 chat calls) of sorting out, with a promise each time that it would be sorted. A little frustrating at the time.

The switch was very easy, BT kept me updated every step of the way. The engineer that came to my home was very friendly, explained all the information I needed to know very clearly. He was able to answer all of my questions. Although I am paying a little more I don’t mind as my speed is good and a lot more reliable than my last provider. I am very happy with switching to BT.

Fairly easy fuss free switch over. Had one day of no service due to the router being redirected by post, other than that everything straightforward.

Was given a price of £48.00 per month and already my second Bill is higher than expected, including a £20 discount,and Mays Bill has increased to £56. Connection sometimes breaks and sometimes slow.

I ordered a package that was 50 to 100Mbps. Unfortunately, Openreach does not support that in my area. It took several calls and web chats to resolve with a lower package. They did a price match with Plusnet in the end. I am not completely happy but satisfied with the outcome.

I was very impressed with the switch. I knew what date I was switching and was kept up to date with the progress, when the router had been posted and when it would arrive. The speed and wifi signal is better by far than my previous provider. The new deal costs more than I was paying before, however I do believe you get what you pay for. I am happy with my choice, BT are now my preferred internet service provider, as they offer a great service.

New router arrived 2 days before the engineer was due to visit. When the engineer came, he was very friendly and professional and made sure everything was good before leaving. The connection has been unbroken since installation where as previous provider we needed to reset router every so often. Speed is exactly what was promised, even in peak times. Very happy with a very easy switch over.

The online order was smooth and the order tracking was good. Constant email and text updates about my order and what stage it is at including when and what time the engineer visit will be at. The engineers visit no hassle - he explained everything he had to do before he did anything an even tided up after himself so that was a big change!

Satisfaction and Value for Money

  • The customers we asked said they saved on average £1.1 per month by switching to BT broadband.
  • Users gave BT 8.6/10 for overall satisfaction, and rated them 8/10 on value for money.
  • When asked why they chose BT broadband, 40% said that they offered the most cost effective deal at the time.
  • Other reasons customers cited were: the provider's reputation (25%), broadband speed (25%), availability (8%), vouchers or reward offers (4%).

Switching and Initial Set-Up

  • On average, the customers we surveyed gave BT a rating of 9/10 for handling their broadband switch.
  • Most customers reported that it took less than 2 weeks from placing an order with BT until their new broadband was up and running.
  • 25% of new BT users had to have a new phone line or cable installed.
  • To get set up, 45% required a home visit from an engineer, with 11% needing repeat visits.
  • 15% of customers surveyed told us they needed a router upgrade and 4% required additional wifi signal boosters.

Broadband Speed & Reliability

  • For broadband speed, customers rated BT 8.3/10 on average.
  • Users gave them 8.7/10 for the reliability of their broadband connection.
  • 11% of people experienced issues with intermittent downtime, with 2% saying their broadband was down persistently.
  • 13% of respondents told us they had a slow connection at least some of the time.
  • 9% said they had a poor wifi signal in some parts of their home.
