The switching progress was simple. I'm happy I switched. The speed is good.

The transfer process was great and initially everything worked fine. After a few days I started getting problems. All the lights on the router were green, but connectivity was poor on my iPad and iPhone and my laptop reported DNS problems. After much frustration, research and swapping routers, I am now using my old router and I have installed 1.1.1.1 apps on all my computers. I now get reliable internet access. TalkTalk’s help systems were no help. Thankfully, I am a reasonably experienced computer user and I was able to obtain other help online and I was lucky in finding 1.1.1.1. Now that I have got my TalkTalk connection running, it seems to be performing fine, but it is not quite so good at busy times over the weekend.

I waited over 10 weeks for the router to be sent out. Every time I rang them each person told me a different story as to why in the end I told them to cancel it as I couldn’t wait any longer. Customer service is a shambles.

I received an excellent service in an unusual setting, being in a flat above a business the distribution point was inaccessible but the engineers worked hard to resolve the issue and I've now got a service I thought I'd struggle to get. Thanks to all involved.

The switch to TalkTalk was very quick, it seems neither provider require a username and password so my old router connected to TalkTalk seamlessly. Now I am using the new router and the service is much better. Previously the internet would drop frequently and also the router would somehow crash. Hopefully the price won't keep going up as it did with my previous provider.

The services are very good and up to the mark. The connection is reliable and the speed is excellent as the provider promised. Also, the customer services are very good and provide help in every aspect. Overall, I am very happy with the switch.

Very fast internet as for such a price it is really very worth this amount. I'm very glad I made the decisions to switch to TalkTalk and I was definitely not disappointed. Installed quickly, easy to operate, friendly staff. I have had TalkTalk 5 years ago and I was not disappointed then, I was satisfied with the speed and quality, but I was lured by others with their promotions and rewards, so we left TalkTalk. But now we are back and we are very satisfied.

It’s ok, not amazing but ok. The connection drops a lot, but the speed is good when connected. Find it hard to speak with their support when having issues with connection.

The switching process was extremely easy and painless. Have had no problems up to now and haven't had any need to contact customer services. I do not regret switching because there has been no difference in speed and I am saving money.

I am very happy with my new internet from TalkTalk. I would like my Internet to be more reliable without having to fork out extra money for a booster but apart from that it's really good. However I can't watch normal telly and not too sure why that is.

I am quite satisfied with TalkTalk internet service. My Future Fibre plan is really value for money. Getting a superb speed as committed, no issues or problems so far. Customer service is very good. I am fully happy with the TalkTalk switch.

I decided to switch because TalkTalk looked better value for money and the router had good reviews online. Unfortunately, it appears that the router’s performance is worse than my previous one and we have had to buy a booster to get reasonable signal in our upstairs rooms (our house isn’t that big!).

I am more than happy I’ve made the change. I get basically the same service as my previous provider but at a lesser cost. The switch was very easy to complete. Talk Talk is good value for money. Saving me in excess of £180.00 per year.

The switch across was simple and easy as would be expected. I switch after each contract and they have all found that part easy and straightforward. I sadly find their network unreliable often using my hotspot from my Vodafone mobile sim to watch a movie properly or unstick a program. Their website is difficult to navigate around and the mobile app? Is there one ? An agent called me while at work and asked when would be best to speak with me, I requested 18:00 and never heard from them again. I am hoping I only chose 1 year with talk talk. Sadly disappointing over all. It’s like they say they can play with the big boys but in reality are way behind on service product and over all customer focus.

The switch was quick and easy. We experienced slow broadband and a fall but it was fixed quickly. Sometimes the signal loses connection in the evenings when watching TV. Overall, I am satisfied with the speed and value for money.

The switch was easy and straight forward, setting up was very simple and quick. Value for money is superb, Internet speed is more than adequate for my needs, much happier than with my last provider, overall really pleased I switched to Talk Talk.

No issues, didn't need an engineer. Very straightforward. However I felt there was a lack of communication and I didn't know if an engineer would be coming out.

The switch was terrible. We booked it 2 months in advance and then we had to call them ourselves as nothing had arrived, no router, no email, nothing. Then an exhausting cycle of calls with TalkTalk started. First of we didn't have our router so nothing worked, but we were told we would get compensation though and the router would be send asap and arrive within 2 days (~30min call incl. wait). Also we were told that the old router should still work. Two days later no router. And no internet. In a whopping 75 minute call, I was instructed to do several tests with the OST with a wired ethernet connection to the OST and had to wait for checks on TalkTalk's side. Requests to send an engineer instead and/or call back after tests were ran were refused. This call ended with me having to call back again later because a system was down that prevented running a final check. Another call the day after, router had arrived but things still not working. Another call the next day (~50min), systems still down, so had to call again next day. Was reassured of compensation of £5 a day for each day of no connection. Next day, systems worked and no error could be found. An engineer would finally be send. Two days later engineers came and, after some calls, found something was not switched in the billing process. Now finally we had internet after being without for a week. But it didn't stop there. Because no compensation came. This took another two online chat conversations. The first time I was told to wait until the next bill and reach out if nothing happened there. No surprise here, nothing happened... So I needed to reach out again. After first being told that I was connected to the right person for this and waiting several time for the person to check something, I was eventually forwarded as this turned out not to be the right person for this... The next person flatly told me that no compensation of £5 a day would be made and that there was no mention of this compensation in the notes from earlier calls. My request to listen recordings of these conversations was refused. Exhausted with all this mess, I accepted a pro-rata compensation of the days missed, which obviously does not compensate for all the lost time and inconvenience caused by TalkTalk. And guess what, even this compensation never happened... Bottom line, stay away from TalkTalk. Saving a few quid on your bill may cost you a lot, A LOT, of pain, time and inconvenience. I would never have switched away from BT if I had known this.

I had a bit of a delay with my service going live due to a crossed line. However, once an engineer was sent out I had no issues at all. Reliable, speedy and conveniently affordable. Would definitely recommend :)

The switch was quick and easy and the service is brilliant so far, I cannot fault it. I did want broadband and tv as it is a greater savings but the broadband router is one room and the tv in another so settled for broadband alone for now. I am extremely happy that I switched provider as I am saving money all round. If the tv box could work connected to the tv would be a big bonus rather than having wire connections running across rooms.

Was really easy to set up and quick. I am happy with the change of broadband and I feel the Wi-Fi is stronger even when I am not in the same room. It’s also better for me money wise too!

The wifi is super patchy, worse than our last provider. It is meant to be fibre optic but it’s really slow. … maybe it’s the area but I doubt it. I’m too busy to change wifi providers again

More secure connection with an updated router . Much better value for money than previous provider: but feel all broadband in the uk is too expensive. Very happy so far that I changed

The switch over was great. There was an issue but the engineer came straight out an contacted me to fix it straight away . The service is great and I’m getting the speed that I pay for one hundred percent. It’s amazing value for money, compared to my old provider I am so happy with TalkTalk. Has saved me a lot of stress and made working from home so much easier, best decision I made.

I switched and was concerned about keeping my number . When I checked on line and called they said it was a safe process and my number would stay . It did. I find my new broadband value for money and very reliable I would thoroughly recommend So happy we moved to a reliable network.

The switch to TalkTalk has been faultless. The engineer was booked to come out, attended with no issues. The WiFi was switched on straight away along with the box. We have had absolutely no problem since switching over to TalkTalk and would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family. We will continue to use TalkTalk for a long time.

The installation was botched up, but that was by OpenReach more so than TalkTalk. An engineer was needed to reconnect the line but failed to find my home. Then TalkTalk drove me up the wall: first, they kept sending conflicting messages, the online order just said there were technical difficulties, and chat was 100% useless and infuriating. After an hour on chat and an hour on the phone with support, they manage to reschedule in a week (points for that, knowing OpenReach usual lead time). I still feel they gave me too hard a time and didn't do enough. The speed is OK, but wifi signal really low. I have less than half the bars in the living room, and none by the front door (forget the garden). This is unusually poor. New router stalls and has to be unplugged and rebooted once in 5-7 days on average. No issues with billing so far. Got 5 quid or so credit for install screwup.

The engineer did a very thorough job setting up my new connection. He connected the new hub and got it working for me. I have had only minor problems so far. I’m happy with TalkTalk and would recommend them.

Satisfaction and Value for Money

  • The customers we asked said they saved on average £5.65 per month by switching to TalkTalk broadband.
  • Users gave TalkTalk 8.3/10 for overall satisfaction, and rated them 8.3/10 on value for money.
  • When asked why they chose TalkTalk broadband, 77% said that they offered the most cost effective deal at the time.
  • Other reasons customers cited were: broadband speed (16%), the provider's reputation (5%), availability (1%).

Switching and Initial Set-Up

  • On average, the customers we surveyed gave TalkTalk a rating of 8.9/10 for handling their broadband switch.
  • Most customers reported that it took less than 2 weeks from placing an order with TalkTalk until their new broadband was up and running.
  • 17% of new TalkTalk users had to have a new phone line or cable installed.
  • To get set up, 35% required a home visit from an engineer, with 3% needing repeat visits.
  • 12% of customers surveyed told us they needed a router upgrade and 9% required additional wifi signal boosters.

Broadband Speed & Reliability

  • For broadband speed, customers rated TalkTalk 8/10 on average.
  • Users gave them 8/10 for the reliability of their broadband connection.
  • 27% of people experienced issues with intermittent downtime, with 5% saying their broadband was down persistently.
  • 11% of respondents told us they had a slow connection at least some of the time.
  • 12% said they had a poor wifi signal in some parts of their home.
